University of Waterloo Internet Kiosk

About UWIK

The University of Waterloo Internet Kiosk (UWIK) is a locked-down Linux-based system designed to provide University of Waterloo students, staff, and faculty a simple and secure web browsing interface. If the browser is closed, or the kiosk resets after the inactivity time-out, all data stored from the previous session is completely removed.

What UWIK is:
  • A secure Internet kiosk for simple web browsing.
What UWIK is not:
  • A general-purpose workstation. Only one program is accessible to the end-user is the web browser.

For advanced computing tasks, please use one of the University of Waterloo public computer labs or the public workstations in the Davis Centre library.
